Louisville Literary Arts will once again transform Louisville’s dynamic NuLu shopping and entertainment district on East Market Street into a writer’s block. On October 12, 2013, The Writer’s Block Festival celebrates literature and the writing craft. All who love writing and literature are invited to participate in this festival.
The event officially begins with an InKy reading on Friday night, October 11, at the Bard’s Town Tavern. On Saturday morning, October 12, participants will attend lectures, readings, workshops and panel discussions by local and national writers in various genres.
This year’s Writer’s Block Conversation features Kentucky’s poet laureate, Frank X Walker, interviewed by celebrity interviewer, Gabe Bullard. Novelist Timothy Gautreaux will close the festival in the evening with the Axton Keynote Reading at the Cressman Center.
The Green Building is host to the festival. The Local Speed will host the print fair, where small publishers, literary journals and writing programs will share their wares. Various NuLu businesses and restaurants will host workshops. Most events are FREE to the public, thanks to our sponsors!
